Course comments

I have recently finished my hypnotherapy course with Weller Associates Training and I would like to say a huge thank you to both Ali and Sam. It was very informative, with lots of practical work involved and also it was a great atmosphere to learn in too. We were all a little sad to leave the classroom on the graduation day as it was so much fun.

They are a great team that really helped me feel confident in what I was doing, always happy to answer any questions at anytime not just in the classroom, enabling me to practice on friends and family and see positive results while training.

I have since started my practice up and I feel confident I can help my new clients, and know that if I do come across a client that has difficulties I have limited knowledge on that I can contact Weller Associates for advice.

I would highly recommend Weller Associates Training to anyone looking at Hypnotherapy as a new career.

Many thanks

Hypnotictracks testimonial

The cd is so easy to listen to. Hypnotracks is a to the point method ( no imagining beaches & naff music) Sam has a soothing tone to his voice which is the key to relaxing. And boy do you relax, deeply.
I have tried other hypnotherapy sessions without sucess yet after the first time listening to the weight loss cd the message is in my head. There is no fighting with your conscience.

You are happy to eat healthily! I do not need to talk myself out of snacks or treats as I do not want them any more. I am astounded at at the speed of my progress & it is all due to hypnotracks.

I have invested in more cd's but wish to concentrate on the weight loss for now.
As an added benefit I have discovered that the deep state of relaxation I can achieve is aiding work related back/ shoulder & neck pain. The track enables you to quickly & totally relax your whole body leaving you feeling like you've had a full nights sleep in half an hour. It is transforming my life. I've shed 6lb in 2 weeks.
Thanks Sam

Why is our training different?

Having been a trainer for 2 other hypnotherapy-training organisations on reflection the training offered was very theoretical and offered no real practical element.

Hypnotherapy is a practical occupation. Courses crammed with superfluous knowledge, which will not be used, do not prepare you for the real world. Lengthy courses are usually repetitive in that the theory provided to extend the training hours lets you believe you are getting more.

Quality not quality is the key.

In the real world of running a practise you run it like a business in order to generate income and enhance your skills.

Having worked in the business since 1989 and with thousands of hours under my belt I can tell you clients use hypnotherapy 90% in the main for the following:

Weight loss

Anxiety

Stop smoking

You can of course venture into other areas as I have done such a sports and business skills (public speaking, goal achievement)

So we concentrate on what people use hypnotherapy for and help you obtain real practical knowledge in order to achieve results.

Not just brush over it so we can upsell you some CPD a later date.

People use hypnotherapy for the 3 areas described above as the more psychological type of work goes elsewhere although if that fails I have found that they turn to hypnotherapy as a last resort. We do not train you to be jack-of-all-trades master of none.

At wellerassociates we offer 3 months post diploma support at no extra cost to help you establish yourself

We focus on the key skill of helping someone really relax with you. This is understated but essential. With out this you have nothing, as you cannot help a client achieve trance state. Therefore you cannot access the subconscious.

We refer this as master/mistress of the 60 minutes as that is the time you have with a client during session.

What works is a good solid basic diploma, which prepares you for the real work of running a hypnotherapy practise

For more details please refer to the training site http://training.wellerassociates.co.uk/

Hypnotherapy sessions and what happens?

Before a sessions starts a terms of business is sent to the client after the client has booked in. This confirms everything that has been discussed in writing and includes the number of sessions, payment options and directions to which practise they have chosen.

Once the client has arrived every effort is made to make them as comfortable as possible. Physical and mental relaxation being key. Comfy chairs being the order of the day.

After a fact find is conducted the induction starts.

Before any induction a very thorough explanation is given as to what hypnosis is and more importantly what it is not. Stage shows and films have shaped many attitudes, with the evil hypnotist controlling the person who is in their presence, invariably wearing black robes, with bloodshot eyes, and a slightly constipated look.

Once a client has been through the induction and programming /uncovering work a full explanation is given around the techniques employed. I refer to this as the debrief.

Feedback is important so that a person understands that they have engaged trance state.

It is an educational process and we both work as team to get the best possible results that a client is paying you for.

As each session progresses a client allow themselves to become mor erelaxed and often free-fall relaxation occurs. They go on the drift whereby the analytic, conscious side of the mind is more relaxed so the subconscious mind is open for positive powerful and beneficial suggestions. Results are everything.

Over the years I have been asked some strange questions including,” will I have an out off body experience”?

My definition of hypnosis is a superior form of physcial and mental relaxtion(which leads to emotional relaxation) allied to positive go forward suggestions.(therapy)

Rather than hypnotherapy I much rather prefer the term "right brain coaching" much more accurate and without the negative connotations you get around the word hypnosis.

Feedback re treatment of son`s phobia by Mary Thomas.(posted in Linkedin)

Details of the Recommendation: "My son had a real phobia of needles, to the extent that he would not allow the anesthetist to use a needle to put him under when he recently broke his arm. I was prepared to try anything as a routine jab approached and I have to admit to being skeptical of hypnotherapy.

Wow - what a result. My son had 3 sessions with Sam and was able to have a jab at school with no problem. His attitude has changed from one of real fear to one of indifference. I would recommend Sam's approach to anybody who wanted to get something sorted."

Weight loss and why wellerassociates hypnotherapy is so effective.

Weight loss for some can be eternal. Why? Each new diet or new re-cycled diet offers the same. If you look a word diet first 3 letters are DIE.
Unfortunately all these diets work on the starvation principle of some sort, and drastically reduced calories. Or by eating solid protein, to living off a boring liquid diet. None of them address the relationship to food, which is a lifetime one.

Diets slow down the metabolism after 4 days the body shuts down and goes into starvation made protecting the very calories you are trying to loose.

Metabolism slows right down. When you start eating again the weight piles back on and with an almost wrecked metabolism the pounds pile back on.

Anybody been there before?

Dieticians and so called experts do not tell you that the body likes and needs good old fat, it serves a useful propose. Supplies us with a food store in times of starvation and keeps us warm. Unlike muscle, which is cosmetic, and burns off calories.

The subconscious mind still acts as if we were in the cave.

Diets do not address this in any way shape or form. The key is to work with the body. The body will accept weight loss of 2lbs a week. Any more is fluid and muscle tissue. If the weight is lost slowly it will stay off. Therefore no more yo-yo effect.

And another cycle of dieting with the latest wonder diet.

Working with the body is the key.

Everybody knows what he or she should and should not eat. The key is feeling good about going it.

Unfortunately we live in an age of easy and instant with miracle diets offering absurd amounts of weight loss in a matter of days or weeks. We have helped clients to lose weight who have tried every diet under the sun. Always the same.

My weight loss Hypnotherapy programme is a process whereby you can work with the body and feel good about doing the things that you know you should be doing. Once you are into a rhythm the weight comes off, slowly, naturally, and safely and stays off.Goodbye to diets forever.

Psychologically you feel good, as long lost confidence in your ability to lose weight returns as you have finally found something that works

You lose weight once not a hundred times!!

We have also developed  a 6 module weight loss coaching programme for those of you that would like a more "coachy" approach to your weight loss goals as well. This package can be bought direct from us for £50.It is a interactive programme and we welcome questions. Each module is sent weekly.

Some feedback
I am stunned about my eating, only tiny portions.Very strange, and I am incredibly impressed it is briliant.
I am passing Sam `s details on to all my clients.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sam,
After trying many varied diets, clubs and gyms in order to lose weight, I finally found the secret of achieving weight loss, and this was by using hypnotictracks for weight loss.

After only two weeks of using the ‘hypnotic tracks ‘ weight loss download,I have successfully lost 11 lbs.

Although in the beginning I was unsure as to whether a download would work, I can say hand on heart this has really worked for me, I feel more confident, younger and comfortable in my skin.

I would like to keep my method of losing weight a secret so all my girl friends envy me, but I feel so positive that I will be singing the praises of your weight loss download and telling all of my friends that hypnotictracks really does work.Plus I really appreciate the ongoing online back up programme, which has meant I have continued to loose weight.
Many thanks from a confident, happy, healthy woman.

Right brain coaching

The word “Hypnotherapy” spells out visions of being “under” and “in therapy”.
As a practising full time hypnotherapist of 21 years neither term in the real world applies.

Right brain coaching is a much more accurate description of the work you do. Using relaxation techniques to confuse, bypass, and relax the conscious mind in order to access the subconscious.

We access the subconscious mind every day but in a random manner.
If you drive, read a book, watch a film, or become emotional then you leaving the subconscious mind (right side of the brain wide open).

Hypnotherapy takes this a stage further by accessing the right side of the brain to achieve results for fee-paying clients.
This enables feelings to be realigned to a much more powerful sate.
Or in other words give you an edge.

The subconscious mind reacts very differently to the conscious mind. Therefore by employing purely cognitive approach you may listen and agree however your feelings don’t change.

If feelings are pitted against will power then will power comes second.
A skilled hypnotherapist will know how to set the framework to help a client achieve a particular objective. That objective can be anything the clients choose.

Should pregnant women be subjected to testing to see if they smoke?

As a clinical hypnotherapist who has helped smokers over many years I am not certain that testing pregnant women will achieve at a practical level. Smokers become non-smokers as part of what we call “readiness for change”. A strong desire must been in place for hypnotherapeutic techniques or any other for that matter to work.

The desire factor to be a non-smoker is all-important without that then a smoker will invariably stay a smoker or start again.
Many factors make up “readiness for change”, such as health, cost of smoking, concerns regarding the example given to children, or pregnancy.
Once a person has decided to become a non-smoker then that is where a hypnotherapist comes in. I use the term non-smoker, as just stopping smoking is not enough.

Testing pregnant women to see if they are still smoking and encouraging them to stop is well meaning but in my opinion somewhat misguided.
It is far better to educate and encourage rather than subject to tests.
A good example is the UK smoking ban. Many smokers continued out of sheer defiance or at work smoked “underground”. In my experience it had little impact on those wanting to be a non-smoker. At best it might have been part of the stop smoking equation.

Stress and anxiety are the biggest reasons why people smoke or go back to smoking. More attention should be directed to this area. I would rather see initiatives based around teaching pregnant women how to relax as an alternative to smoking.
For some people a few smokes a day may be the only chance they have to relax.
To conclude education is a far more effective tool than subjecting pregnant women to tests.
